so after months of seeing docs, being fed meds such as naproxen and prednisone, i've finally found out what's wrong with my knees and the prognosis wasn't great. i finally got to see the orthpedist last week and he told me the news that i've got cartilage degeneration....he said it was good news that we caught it on the onset so it's in it's initial stages and that some rehab and injections should do the trick. he asked me if i wanted to go ahead and take those then but i was like um, no! that whole mess of eggs is another thing and i refuse to get them until i know how they will affect my knee and future of my cartilage down there...so far the research i've done is mixed with some being beneficial but over the long run, it starts to weaken the cartilage in your knees.

i have my first rehab appointment on december 2nd so i am looking forward to this....i am also thinking of getting back into the gym. i am not sure what my cardio choices would be other than bike but bike would be my lower body workout since i'm not supposed to bend my knees more than 90 degrees...

taking it slow is hard for me....but i know if i do anything other than i will permanently screw up my percious knees....the only reason i am bummed is because i feel like i'm too young to be going through this(vain, i know and i'm sorry to offend if i do)....i'm only 30 and all the brochures i racked up said it happens to people 45+....but i'm determined....and i even keep thinking of venus williams when i start to feel really sorry for myself....she has jumper's knee so severe that i wouldn't be suprised if she retired in the three years...theres no way playing on tour professionally adds to her benefit at all!

i even told a doc that...the second one, i said "with me, you've got the opposite problem you have with all the other millions of americans....with them it's get your ass off the couch but with me it's sit your ass down on couch!" lmao! anyhow....slow and steady wins the race and i'm determined...:)
