Hey! Thanks for checking out my Profile!
My name is Megan Cofield (25) and I'm from Courtenay, British Columbia. Fitness has always been a huge part of my life for as long as i can remember! Ive been a personal trainer for almost 5 years now and been competing since Nov 2006.....my fifth show will be coming up in Oct 2008! I'm hooked. Training for a goal like competing is unlike any other goal I've set for myself. Being fit and health is extremely important to me and committing to hit the stage allows me to stay focused. Being in a small town...with very few people doing the same thing, it can be really hard to keep to your own little world of training and nutrition...but it's worth it in the end.
The love for training/competing & staying healthy can set you apart from the crowd sometimes. Staying strong and focused, especially out of perhaps the easy 'comfort zone' is rewarding in so many ways.
I hope to meet many like-minded, motivated and inspiring people along the way......
For those who are just starting to think about changing their fitness/health goals...do it.! Go for it if it means something to you, don't let other peoples opinions make up your mind.
My philosohpy....if you want to achieve something, you can. If you want to make a change in life or take on a challenge, you can.....The only thing that will prevent you is saying & thinking you can't......no more excuses!!!
My bodyPROUD Goals:
FAME Pro Bikini Model 2008
My AHA Life Defining Moments:
After a show, if I decided I need to put on more muscle, come in leaner etc... this is motivating! Now I get to change it up and try again. I've never gone into a show feeling like ;'wow, this is as good as it gets'...yeah right lol. I'm always waiting to see the pics and figure out what worked, what looked better or not as good. Because I change my training & nurtition almost every show...something is bound to look different.
I'm happy that I can change my goals/training a little and perhaps focus on a new category with FAME and train hard to reach that new goal.
My Transformation Triumphs!
Oh, thanks to Jeff & Mindy for choosing me in the 2008 Miami poster! :) Nothing like seeing your photo on something like that! very motivating :) I'm very greatfull*
My bodyPROUD Intentions:
not yet!.......
To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:
So far in competing, with 4 under the belt, my proudest moment was taking first place in Vancouver (April 2008) and receiving my Pro Card in Bikini Model. Competing with FAME has given me more inspiration as a competitor.
How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:
You're the only one who can make changes for the better in your life. Waiting for opportunities while you're currently unhappy...doesn't work! Get out of your comfort zone and make it happen, whatever it is.
Being happy and healthy is sooooo important!
Please Help ME with:
I've been 'training' seriously in the gym since 2002 ish... I had thought about competing a while ago but wasn't too sure about what/where/when/how etc.. One day i met someone who was going to do a show, went to watch and decided to do the same show the following year. I struggled mentally with having to develope 'lots of muscle' like most women probably deal with. However, putting that muscle on was a lot harder than I thought anyways...lucky for me, or was it? Anyways, it's great to see the benefits of hard work, it's rewarding to see that you actually do have delts when you're trying so hard to find them...lol.. and it's empowering to know that you can control how your body looks after months of hard training. The tricky part is finding out what works best for you, your body type and your goals....I'm still learning and searching! :) I think this is what keeps me going, I probably wont stop until I've got this down!
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
networking, seeing other peoples stories & motivation.
Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:
