- As a result of becoming an unemployed civil engineer due to the economy, I decided to explore my other talents: I am now an ACE certified personal trainer. Part time actor and model, and substitute teacher to help pay the bills.
- My BodyPROUD Story
- I began fitness training when I was twenty-one when I joined my first gym. Since then being fit has always been a part of my life. In the early nineties I worked in a small gym and I was fortunate to learn proper form from people who knew what they were doing, and I was able to pass that along at a time when trainer certifications were rare.
I continued to train at a gym throughout my thirties, although having small children caused me to skip a couple of years. At 35, after my divorce, I got back into the gym in earnest and I have been a regular ever since.
I'm a civil engineer by training, but I lost that job in 2009 to the ailing economy. I decided to pursue my other talents and passions, of which teaching and fitness were two of those. It lead naturally to becoming a personal trainer.
I learned the concepts of proper nutrition last year as well, and that allowed me to push my training and fitness level to new heights.
My new careers are now: ACE Certified Personal Trainer, a part-time model and actor, substitute teacher, and kids partner dancing instructor.
There are so many people looking for help to get fit and I look forward to helping them!
- My Facts 'n Stats:
- I'm a 48 year old married dad of five great kids. I've been working out for over 20 years and I would like to pass that philosophy along to my kids as well as others.
- My bodyPROUD Goals:
- I was in attendance at the FAME Philadelphia Event on Valentines Day 2009 and took over 300 pictures. I was very impressed with what I saw and the type of competition.
- My AHA Life Defining Moments:
- I joined Body Proud because I want to be a part of an organization that promotes values such as sportsmanship, camaraderie, healthy lifestyle, fitness and appearance.
- My Transformation Triumphs!
- Watching my kids grow into really great people.

- Share What I Have Learned
- To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:
- My new goals are to continue to live the BodyProud lifestyle, grow in my new career as a personal trainer, and possibly compete in another FAME event this year.
- Life Advice that Helped Me:
- Diet is a four-letter word! Proper nutrition is the key to becoming fit and lean.
- How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:
- Life is about balance in all aspects of our family, career, and lifestyle.
- Please Help ME with:
- Body building posing and routines. After watching the body builders at the Atlantic City show I've realized I have everything to learn about posing and putting a routine together.
- My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
- I've been able to spend a lot more time training these days and I was able to lose 15 lbs. Part of that is from additional exercise but most of it is a result of learning proper nutrition.
- Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:
- Everything I have in life. Life isn't about having the things you love; it's about loving the things you have.
