My Plug:
I work as a Unified Communications Analyst, and deal with networks and voice communications.
My BodyPROUD Story
I have always into health and exercise, ever since I was a teenager. I feel complete when I'm in the gym, when I'm working out. It is when I feel the most connection with myself, mentally and spiritually. To be able to find my limits and push through them, has always allowed me to have a great work ethic. The discipline that comes from exercise is probably the greatest reward that I've managed to have, it's allowed me to focus through some difficult times in my life and career. It has helped me in my academic and professional world by allowing my work ethic to pass through to various other things in my life.

Exercise is the cornerstone of my life, and I owe everything that I am to it.
My Facts 'n Stats:
My name is Tirandeep Johal. I'm a 31 year old single male living in London UK. I currently work as a Unifed Communications Analyst, involved with designing and implementing the latest communications technologies for my company.

I have a BSc Honors in Zoology and an MSc in Physiology. I would like to pursue a professional qualification in Personal Training.
My bodyPROUD Goals:
I've just joined this wonderful and inspiring website. I am quite excited and nervous, as I have never done something like this before. I'm hoping I'll meet some great people here!
My AHA Life Defining Moments:
Know your limits, and then break through them. Focus your mind and you can achieve anything you set your goals to be. Train with passion, vigor, heart and you will never fall of the path that you have chosen to walk. Your body is special, it reflects the person who lives within it. Be proud of your body, and show the commitment, the work ethic, the dedication, and who you are inside through it.
My Transformation Triumphs!
My right arm was temporarily paralysed because of an injury, causing the bone to break above the elbow, and swelling of my nerve. I had to rehabiliate for six months, and recover from the trauma. Not only did the discipline and determination of having exercised my entire life push me to recover faster than ever, I also managed to achieve my best ever physique. I dropped 45 pounds, and got to 7% body fat, with a 40 inch chest to a 27 inch waist. I did this through hard work, and did it within a year.

Gain More Flexibility, Compete in Physique Showcase Events, Be an Inspiration to Others, Gain Exposure
To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:
I want to keep improving further and further. My goal would be to compete in fitness competitions
Life Advice that Helped Me:
Consume complex carbs in the morning, this will be keep your insulin levels at a steady level, and you'll continually be burning calories before your workout. Follow the workout with simple sugars, to allow the muscles to recover quickly from a bout of intense training.
How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:
Nutrition is the key aspect for me, without the correct nutrition you're not allowing your body to get the results both in and out of the gym. Keep a disciplne approach to nutrition is very important, and something that hold great significance in my life. The body is designed for exercise, so be active and to exercise the body is highly important for health, and there should be no excuse why someone cannot dedicate some time to something that is so important. Training the mind is the most important thing of all, maintaining that focus from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep, without it, you cannot strive to better yourself everyday.

Flexibilty, preparing for competitions.
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
My diet at the moment is for maintaining a lean body, and consists mainly of complex carbs, such as oats, brown rice. Lots of vegetables, fruit. Protein consumption on a dailt basis comes from various sources, inclduing eggs, fish, chicken, protein shakes. Lots of water.

My training routine is a five day split. I workout at lunch time, and normally lift heavy weights, with most of my routine based around compound movements, deadlifts, squats, dumbbell presses, lunges, clean and press, clean and jerk, weighted pullups, etc. After work I do some cardio/conditioning training, changing it from jumping rope, sprints, bodyweight circuits, swimming.
Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:
Having the focus, the determiantion and the sheer will to push myself, to never falter in my perosnal quest to be the absolute best that I can be.
My Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach / Guru... and Why
My hero is Sylvester Stallone. I've grown up with the Rocky and Rambo character, even today the incredible conditioning of Stallone's physique in Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rambo II and Rambo III is legendary. He has helped me with my own challenges to build a body that I could be proud of. I owe everything to the inspirational moments that he has given me through his training, his words, his mentality, and his heart.
