- I am looking for something in the fitness industry to augment my pension when I retire in afew years
- My BodyPROUD Story
- Very active as a child and teenager. Got in to a very active lifestyle as an adult following a severe leg injury at the age of 22 and have been there ever since.
By my mid 20's I started dancing.....25 years classical ballet which has overlapped with 20 yrs weightraining
- My Facts 'n Stats:
- 5"4"....118 pounds
For my job I M an installation/ repair tech for voice/high speed internet. I have been with Telus for 30 years.....20 in the technical side and the past 15 outside.
- My AHA Life Defining Moments:
- My body is the most precious gift I will ever recieve. It is the vehicle whereby I will travel down the road of life. The quality of the ride and the length of the ride are totally dependant on how well I maintain this vehicle.....
I only got one " kick at the can" here so I am going to get the most out of my turn that I posibly can
- My Transformation Triumphs!
- overcoming severe injury to 3 limbs and surviving cancer......being able to say that I have done my job of being a " mom" well
- My bodyPROUD Intentions:
- Increase My Confidence, Improve my Health, Gain More Flexibility, Increase My Strength, Become a Role Model to My Children & Family, Keep Me Young, Feel Better about Myself, Compete in Physique Showcase Events, Improve My Posture, Attain Proper Symmetry, Be an Inspiration to Others, Get Discovered - TV, Magazines, Sponsorship, Gain Exposure

- I am aiming to compete in October......both by myself and as a duo with my wonderful 19 yr old daughter
- Life Advice that Helped Me:
- Don't ever give up.......the only person in this world who can ever set any limitations on you is "you yourself"

- Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:
- My life....my daughter....my pets....my home
- My Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach / Guru... and Why
- Love and respect to my Dad ( now departed).....who helped rehab me through my first severe injury with the mantra of " do it till the tears run down your cheeks".....and without whose support I most likely would have been crippled at 22.
Love and repect to my Mum ( now departed)....whose brave battle with cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her
Love and repect to my ballet teacher Miss Slater ....who taught us until a month before she passed on at the age of 78.......and impressed on us the fact that sentimentality and hurt feelings have no place in the life of an performer/athlete ( and I can still feel her nails digging into the " turnout joint' of my hip )
Respect to Jack, Paddy, Wayne and all the other wonderful trainers I have had the pleasure of knowing through the years at Canada Games Pool in New Westminster. My great respect also to the handicapped and rehabbing people I have met there over the past 20 years......I have learned much to strengthen both my body and soul from you all.
And last...but certainly not least.......my wonderful daughter Nory....who after all the years of teaching and training I gave her in my role as "MoM" has turned into a wonderful human being who can now take me by the hand or kick me in the butt when I need it to inspire me on ever further

How fitness saved me

I was always active as a child......swimming/ skating/ gymnastics/track and field/ cheerleading/ skiing. We were lucky in those days as compared to the current generation what with not much on TV to watch, no internet, and no texting, no video games to take us off track of developing a good body to start the journey with.
