Scott "Old Navy" Hults, 67. I am a retired US Navy Captain and former executive in the Communications industry. Since my retirement, I have continued to compete in, judge and promote bodybuilding competition. I am also a full-time Fitness Director, Certified Master Fitness Trainer and Certified Nutritionist at the Birmingham, Alabama YMCA.

I am a drug-free athlete who promotes a drug-free lifestyle. I have been married for more than 30 years, have two daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter.

What made you decide to compete? Love of the sport and to test myself.

How has competing benefited you? (eg confidence // weight loss // life issues etc): The 2008 FAME Worlds is my 25th contest and at 65 years-of-age, I’m in the best shape of my life.

Competition Experience / Do you have any titles? 2006 FAME Senior Grand Master World Champion; 2007 FAME North American Grand Master Pro Champion; 2007 NPC Mr. Alabama Masters Champion

Favorite Competition Related Moment / Memory: Placing third at the 2005 FAME Worlds in the Senior Grand Master division in my fourth show and coming back the next year and winning the World Champion title in my age class.

Something shocking about you: I’m 65 and didn’t enter my first competition until I was 61.

Talents: Writing, Music, Motivating.

Amongst your friends/family you are best known for: Being disciplined and focused.

Favorite Cheat Foods: chocolate, chocolate, chocolate…did I mention chocolate?

How did you come up with the idea for your routine/outfit? (if applicable) I chose age related music and developed a story around the tune using posing.

What motivates you to keep on going: I have never had so much fun doing something.

Future Plans & Goals: Promoting shows, judging shows, competing in shows and writing about all of it.

First thing you are going to do after the competition: Begin preparing for my next one

Philosophy: Train Hard. Train Natural. Practice the six P’s: Prior Planning Prevents Pee Poor Performance!

Advice to Others: Talk to the judges after each show and ask how you can improve…then, fix what needs to be fixed and improve.
