Learning to expect changes! I realized as I was working out yesterday that I am in a mindset rut. I have not up to this point expected anything to change.

My body is changing so slowly that I never can see the difference. It is only in photos that I can see the difference in the before and afters.

I want to change. But, I havn't expected change. I think my training is always going to be hard. I'm not going to get any stronger. I'm always going to see the same person staring back at me in the mirror.

That realization made me see how far my mindset is from where it needs to be. Where I am in my journey is I am learning to expect changes. This is huge for me! I am changing and I will not be the same. I am transforming from the inside out and from the outside in. Change happens!

My Facts 'n Stats:
I am 47 years old, mum of six, one born last year. 2010 is the year that I will get my life and body back, better than ever! I am working hard at it every day!

My mindset definatley needs an overhaul! I need to expect changes! I need to expect to be living in a new body and see a new person looking back at me in the mirror.

This seems so elementary, but I see myself as how I've been for the past 15 years or so, even with working so hard to make changes, I have not anticipated that I really will change. I have wanted it, but have not been expecting it.

I have been doing myself a disservice by not expecting to see myself change. So that is #1 on my plan:

1. Expect change. Be ready to change.

2. Workout 5 days per week. In the past year I have worked out 6 days week. My plan now is to train harder, and take an extra day off for muscle recovery.

4. Two days per week will be 20 minutes of HIIT, followed by fun cardio. whatever I feel like doing.

5. Two days off for recovery, but will be active. Playing ball with my two year old is fun and effective, because he never wants to stop! : ) Walks are always fun, too!

6. Supportive nutrition will be 6 small meals per day.

7. I will eat clean each day and not focus on a free day. I have so many people in my family and alot of gatherings, so there tends to be alot of opportunity to stray. I will allow myself tastes during these times, but will turn to visiting, my water and my meals that I have brought with me. I have my favorite foods that I will enjoy, but I will notice if it really tastes like it is worth it. I will also notice if I am only eating because I feel like someone is expecting it. I will allow myself to stick to my plan without being rude and I will not feel bad about it.

8. Water. Minimum of one gallon per day. I drink 1 quart every morning, first thing, so that gets me off to a good start.

9. Rest. This includes days off for recovery, but also getting to bed at least by 10:00 pm. The hours of rest before midnight ar so much more effective for recovery for me.

10. Write my meal plan for the day before the day begins. This is new for me. Usually I have my general plan, then I just document at the end of the day what I ate. I will begin to do both. I did this yesterday and noticed that I wasn't having to make as many decisions throughout the day. It was already decided. So much more efficient!

11. Ten servings of produce, minimum. This is a new years challenge I am participating in. I thought it would be no problem to do because I eat so much produce, but have been surprised to notice that there are days where I may have only had, say, four servings! I would never have believed that would happen till I began to document my produce servings.

12. Be a giver. We have been strapped financially, but have still given. It can still be done. I also share food, even though grocery shopping has been touch and go for us for awhile. I also clean people's bathrooms for nothing. No one wants to clean their bathrooms, so I always know I can be a blessing to others by doing this.

'Our Deepest Fear' By Marianne Williamson, from 'Return to Love'

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
