It all depends on exactly what you are looking for and where you are at now in how I would approach it. you could do the simplest and that is just to attend. Or you could speed things up by getting in touch with people before hand, planning to meet with them, and even setting up some photoshoots. Mike Byerly is highly recommended and is flying in town specifically for this weekend. He is expensive. So if cost is an issue, you could wait and plan a shoot later, I know many local photographers as well.
To meet Clark Bartram is worth the $99 to attend if a minimum. He is VERY motivating!!
start with getting in touch with Gary and maybe he can answer specifics, but feel free to ask me other questions as well!
