- My dad was disabled, so from a very young age I appreciated having a healthy functioning body. My mom was a strong woman who taught me determination. My sister, who recently lost her battle with cancer, gave me the deepest appreciation for life, health and happiness I've ever known.

When I think back to how my life has changed since I was a young woman, I still shake my head in amazement. I was always fit and active as a kid. I started weightlifting when I was 15, and fell in love with bodybuilding. In my 20's, I was a small, fit, exuberant, and had the world by the tail.
