- My Plug:
- Personal Trainer in Kansas City. I work for a country club as a trainer and cycle instructor as well as work as an independent contractor at a gym.
- My BodyPROUD Story
- In 2003 I was in the worst shape of my life. I was climbing towards the 240 lb mark, feeling tired all the time and getting nowhere with my workouts. I was working out, but was not paying attention to my food or cardio. I thought that if all I do was lift weights, I would be fine. I wasn't!!
I joined a local gym and hired a personal trainer to help me lose the weight I needed to lose. I lost a total of 50lbs in 7 months and decided to change careers and become a personal trainer. In January of 2005, I quit my fulltime job and began fulltime working at the gym where I originally hired the personal trainer.
5 years later, I decided that I wanted to compete in my first bodybuilding contest. I found Michael Elias and he got my nutrition, cardio and lifting program together. I competed on May 8, 2010 at the Battle of the Bodies in Tulsa, OK. I didn't place, but was addicted to the whole process of prepping for the contest!! I now am in the best shape of my life and can now take my physique to the next level. My clients are amazed at how I looked at contest time. This whole process has taught me tons about discipline, sacrifice and trust. Trust in myself that if I put my mind to anything, I can do anything!! Having the encouragement of Michael, my partner, frineds is so important. Having a team to hlep cheer you on is really great!
I plan on competing again next year. I am into week 5 of my phase I mass building and am working hard to get ready for next year.
