My Plug:: I have just recently been fortunate enough to make fitness a full-time career! My favourites are Step, Body Sculpt and Dance Aerobics. But I can't be biased, right? haha
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.

My BodyPROUD Story: I'm a former competitive figure skater. Love snowboarding, skating, dance, and soccer. I have 2 dogs, which are pretty much my family here. haha

My Facts 'n Stats:: My name is Krista. I'm 24 years old and from Saskatchewan.

My AHA Life Defining Moments:: The energy backstage and on stage is phenomenal! Anyone who's goal is to compete CAN DO IT! The hard work and determination pays off!

My Transformation Triumphs!: Placed 1st in Fit Duo at FAME Prairies 2009, 3rd at FAME Worlds 2009.

Placed 1st in Fitness at FAME Nationals 2008 and FAME Prairies 2009 & 2010.

My bodyPROUD Intentions:: Increase My Confidence, Improve my Health, Gain More Flexibility, Increase My Strength, Compete in Physique Showcase Events, Sculpt My Physique, Be an Inspiration to Others, Gain Exposure

To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:: Canadian Nationals was my first competition. I'm looking forward to competing again and hope to make it a lifetime endeavour. I want to motivate my clients and show them that they can all do anything they set their mind to... whether it's shedding a few pounds or feeling confident in a bikini in front of hundreds of people!

How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:: NEVER, EVER GIVE UP! Nothing happens overnight and some of us have to work a lot harder at it than others but every goal is attainable for anyone!

My Dietary &/or Training Routine:: 12 week plan pre-competition... it could take forever to share all of this!

Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:: my health, which allows me to compete; my friends and boyfriend and clients who are so supportive of my goals; FAME for giving all-natural athletes our own competition niche

My Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach / Guru... and Why: My fitness hero/mentor is a good friend of mine named Sheldon Porochnavy. Sheldon passed away in an accident the summer of 2006. I am working on one day dedicating one of my competitions to him. He always encouraged me to push past my limits and I truly believe he's watching me transform from somewhere up there. Thanks, buddy! I miss you and remember everything you taught me in and out of the gym. :)

Rural Alberta competition prep... too funny!

Just thought I'd share some funny thought about competition prep when you live in a rural area. lol

Things we do differently:

- pick up our Protan at the local post office (usually a town away) 8 weeks before the competition to make sure we have it in time

- drive half an hour to a friend's house to get waxed/sugared. For me, this friend lives on a farm. In the winter, you drive your 4x4 up a steep icy driveway, greet all the dogs, and walk in without ringing the doorbell

This weekend was amazing!!! Being on stage and meeting tons of wonderful fellow athletes was awesome! I can't wait to do this all over again! I know I can improve and have a better idea of what I need to do. When it's all over, you realize that not only is it do-able, you know you can do better!!! I thought I would just be so relieved it was all over but, really, I was more motivated than ever to keep going. "You're hot then you're cold, you're yes then you're no, you're in then you're out, you're up then you're down......" keeps going through my head even after I've left the gym and my iPod is turned off. This is the story of my life the past few days! lol I'm so excited but worried at the same time... you'd think I'd be just pumped that the competition is almost here! And today I am!
