My Plug:: I am the proud owner of Praia Fitness, a personal fitness and lifestyle coaching company that offers it's services exclusively to women. It is my passion to coach women as they discover their strengths, and as they uncover their infinite potential. Strong women are powerful and influential women.

My Transformation Triumphs!: Running 10km in 42:18 minutes and coming in as the 90th female (out of 59 000 runners of both sexes), after two years with a knee injury (self-trained too, I'm proud to say).

My bodyPROUD Intentions:: Become a Role Model to My Children & Family, Keep Me Young, Compete in Physique Showcase Events, Be an Inspiration to Others, Magazines, Sponsorship, Gain Exposure

To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:: I'll be on stage for my first physique contest this October at the national show, after putting all my knowledge about my body and how it responds to training and nutrition, to use. I have been listening to my body's feedback and overloading it only a fraction of an inch above it's threshold. When one element of my training changes (including how I eat), other aspects of my training are affected. My body gives me the best advice about what changes to make when I listen to it.

Life Advice that Helped Me:: Get your advice from experts, not your friends, colleagues, fellow gym enthusiasts, magazines, or even your trainer. Trainers are qualified to construct personalized strength, conditioning, and body sculpting programs. They are not (unless they are registered dieticians) qualified to construct eating plans, and should not be telling you which supplements to take. What they can do is tell you how they eat and what they take. Is the distinction clear? There is plenty of bad advice out there. There are plenty of old-wives-tales and gimicks too, so be critical.

How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:: Fitness is a means of expressing gratitude for your life and your health. It is an expression of self-love through self-care. Focusing on what you think you are not and should be is the least inspiring reason to exercise and will not lead to success in the long-term. Instead, focus on your increasing abilities and on learning new tasks. Enjoy the sensations that come along with improving your personal level of fitness. If you make a commitment to care for yourself this way for life, a change in your appearance will almost certainly occur – but as an added bonus!

These days I'm learning something that's completely new to me: Olympic Lifting.
