- My Plug:
- Full time mom of four energetic kids.
- My BodyPROUD Story
- I have four children (14, 10, 8 and 4) and am in the best shape that I have been in since I was in my early 20's. It is a good feeling. I really love to work out and have a very supportive man in my life who shares the same passion. My heaviest weight was 158 lbs back in high school. Yuck. My highest pregnancy weight was 178 lbs Yikes!! lol Self esteem is and always has been an issue for me. Even when I'm looking good I can find ways to criticize myself. I am convinced that this is the lifestyle for me though and am striving to be a role model for my children as well.
- My Facts 'n Stats:
- I am currently 5'5" and weigh 131lbs. I have been training 5-6 days a week since November 2009 and love what it has done to my body!
I have had a few people recently ask me if I am training for competition and that I should give it a shot so I am considering that in the future.
- My bodyPROUD Intentions:
- Increase My Confidence, Improve my Health, Gain More Flexibility, Increase My Strength, Become a Role Model to My Children & Family, Keep Me Young, Feel Better about Myself, Compete in Physique Showcase Events, Sculpt My Physique, Attain Proper Symmetry
- To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:
- I am thinking about entering a competition later this fall if I can muster the courage. I think I should enter one as a 'practice' so that I have a better idea of what to do when I feel that I am actually competition ready.

- Hey Darla! You're in luck. The FAME World Tour touches down in Edmonton, Alberta on the 11th of Sept. This show has a Novice component perfect for first timers, and getting your 'practice' on. There is also a workshop, a FAME Camp, prior to that in Calgary, lead by an actual WNSO Professional and World Champion.
Then you should head to Las Vegas for the grand finale event, which also has a show for first level competitors. That event is taking place during the BodyProud Wellness Convention weekend at the Bally's Hotel, so should be a blast.
You'll likely notice that improved self esteem is one of the great side-benefits of competing. :-)
