My BodyPROUD Story
I have always loved sports/fitness. After 4 car accidents in less then 5 years, I was told...take it easy, my spouse would get mad at me for working out..and food was my friend
Now that I am divorced..I want to change my life around and have the body that I want and deserve...but only going to come by doing it!!! I am moving out on my own, with my kids half the time, and I want to DO THIS FOR ME...no one else...but me. May sound selfish but after giving for so long...I think it may be mine to take control of now!!
My Facts 'n Stats:
I am 5'3" and have ballooned to 170 lbs and my dream is to be 120 lbs. (I think I was that when I was around 9!!)
My bodyPROUD Goals:
I want to lose 50 lbs as I want to look better, feel better and be a good example to my 2 grown children.
I am in a relationship right now, which is not as healthy as it should be and am moving out on my own to be closer to my children and to gain the strength and independence I need.
I do not feel good about myself and walk around in gym shorts and baggie t-shirts. I have gained 30 lbs in the last 2 yrs and have not bought any clothes since as I refuse to look like this forever.
My AHA Life Defining Moments:
Your body is your machine and it's yours to take care of and cheerish. If you abuse it, it shows and if you worship it...it shows even more!!
My Transformation Triumphs!
My most proud moment (besides when my beautiful children were born) has not really happened for me....but will soon... I want to do my first 10K....Dream would be to do a Triathalon...but will do one dream at a time...as I don't sleep much!!! Next dream, if reachable would be to compete....but I have never had the physique and don't think I ever will...unless God gives me some sort of miracle!!!
My bodyPROUD Intentions:
Improve my Health, Increase My Strength, Feel Better about Myself, Feel Good in a Bathing Suit, Be an Inspiration to Others
To Become BodyPROUD, I commit to do the Following:
Well...realistically to lose 50 lbs is going to take me at least 6 months...as I want to do it the healthy way. I am an over achiever...so let's say 5 months...
Life Advice that Helped Me:
Work out....find a partner if you need to keep you motivated and eat healthy. Be healthy in your body, mind and spirit.
If something is dragging you down...get rid of it....as life is too short to be unhappy. I discovered this after 20 yrs of marriage...and now divorced!!!
How I Boosted my Confidence and/or Added Joy and/or Health into my Life:
You are what you eat....NO LIE for most.
I on the other hand...LOOK at a cookie and gain 5 lbs.
I can not have junk in the house or it goes right to my trunk but I LOVE eating salads and fruit and veggies...THIS ISNT rocket science stuff people....so why do so many of us have it wrong???
Please Help ME with:
MOTIVATION....INSPIRATION....and of course proper technique to have the toned machine I desire.
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
Right now..have been to the gym 3 times in the last month, but use to work out 5-6 days a week at 5 am. Now I am lucky to get out of bed by 9 am.
I do feel better when I eat healthy, but my bf likes to cook for me...which I love, but he loves to cook in volume...not healthy.
Expressing Gratitude is a Key Ingredient to a Happy Life. I Am Grateful for:
I am grateful for being to exercise after all my car accidents and being told I wouldn't work again or have a normal life.
Well being overweight is NOT normal and I am here to prove them all wrong.
My Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach / Guru... and Why
I must honestly admit, Heather Frey as she has gone from being overweight to competing.
Kori Propst has also been there to pick me up with great nutrional advise and workouts....but my only thing I regret is not working with her one on one...as I think I need that.

Laurie Dickson from Cranbrook, BC...where i am moving too and hope to one day train with her :-)
