You ask some terrific questions!
Everyone is a little different in terms of how effectively we absorb & process nutrients, however, there are some general rules of thumb we can apply. For instance, the body typically cannot absorb more than about about 50 grams of protein in one sitting (even the really good stuff - like inbalance whey protein isolate!) This is one of the reasons why it is important to spread consumption into 5 or 6 meals a day (another important reason is that this helps to stabilize blood glucose levels and maintain the energy levels needed to support an active lifestyle).
