My Background // My 'Story"
I started working out and lifting weights when I was 18 as a stress reliever when my best friend was battling terminal cancer. I hope to lose weight and gain muscle tone.
My Body Proud Beliefs:
I love being fit and strong and the exhilaration I get from working out.
My Prime Body Proud Goals:
Improve my Health, Increase My Strength, Keep Me Young, Feel Better about Myself, Sculpt My Physique, Feel Good in a Bathing Suit, Be an Inspiration to Others
Timeframe &/or Plan to Reach My Body Proud Goals
Rehabbing an injured right knee by building medial quadriceps muscle, having physical therapy and also working with with personal trainer.
I Am Looking for Advice On:
Nutrition and great exercises to work abs and back, information on ways to speed a slow metabolism due to hypothyroidism.

My Philosophy on Nutrition, Physical Fitness &/or Focused Thinking:
I enjoy eating fish, vegetarian ‘meats’, and experimenting with more soy and gluten-free products. I have hypothyroidism and therefore have an extremely slow metabolism. I also have to follow this type of diet to maintain my weight and it is a continual struggle to maintain a low bodyfat. I am working on lowering my current body fat of 37%, which is MUCH higher than it should be. I recognize that for the rest of my life, I will
have to work out more than the average individual just to maintain a healthy and fit physique and muscle tone. However, I have committed my life to fitness and hope to become a Certified Health Education Specialist, obtaining my Master of Public Health in Health Education.
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
I enjoy eating chicken, turkey meat, fish, vegetarian ‘meats’, and experimenting with more soy and gluten-free products.
I do cardio 5 days a week, work abs 5 days a week, legs 3 days and back/arms 3 days a week. I hope to increase my cardio to 6 days a week and also increase legs to six days a week.
I am Grateful For:
my ability to gain beautifully defined muscle tone rapidly in my legs, back and arms.
My Advice to You to Help You Reach Your Body Proud Goals:
You are beautiful. Never let anyone tell you any different.

Hello Anissa!

What maid me decide to compete...well to be honest I workout at a little Gym in a little town, but the owner had already done some competitions in the past and he now organises his own competition in our Town. Since I was participating in our towns comptetition and He new about Fame so suggested that a few athletes try it out also. I've always been pretty active in the gym, and only needed to put down a bit of weight and since I love new challenges I told myself why not. I've done 4 competitions and loved it right away. You meet a lot of different poeple and it's superbe!
