My Facts 'n Stats:
Andre Bland
Birthdate: 02/12

I've been competively bodybuilding since I was since I was 19 being the NASF American Challenge Nationals. I began fitness modeling competitively since I was 21 with the FAME Northeast Model and Figure Championships! I'm still fairly new to the fitness realm, but I'm learning very fast and encouraging people everywhere in the process.
My Background // My 'Story"
My story involves so much! I had problems in school, I had issues with coaches, and nothing was working out for me. Then I began competing on stage after following my mother's footsteps. I've been competing since November of 2007 starting at 19 years of age. Since starting, I've competed in the NASF, OCB, FAME, Musclemania, and NPC. I'm just starting to get in some upcoming magazines, media, and so forth!

If you really want something, you won't let anything somebody says, any negative thoughts, or even status hold you back from reaching you goal!
My Most Proud Moments // My Claim to 'FAME':
Winning the Junior Bodybuilding title as well as Runner-Up in the Advanced Fitness Model at the FAME World Championships!

My Body Proud Journey Starts Here (Blog Entry #1)
My journey started back in November of 2008 when I first heard about Body Proud and the FAME World Tour. After checking into it, I created an account on here. Then I entered the FAME Northeast on Valentine's Day (2 days after my 21st birthday)! And from there a whole lot has changed!
My Philosophy on Nutrition, Physical Fitness &/or Focused Thinking:
Sometimes if you try too hard, you still lose everything. This is when you realize, it's not all about the competition. It's not about winning. That greatest thing you can do is have fun and know you gave 100%. As long as you do that, you will stay a winner.

Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, all your Mind, and all your Emotions.
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
I do not list my info online, but you are welcome to send me a message if you would like to know!
I am Grateful For:
My mother, my brothers, my friends, and everybody who has supported me thus far in reaching my goals!
My Advice to You to Help You Reach Your Body Proud Goals:
Don't give up! Trust God and stay healthy. Growth takes time!
A Few Words about my Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach
I've taken donations for shows from people! I've learned so many tips from trainers, coaches, family, friends, judges, and so forth. But in all honesty, I'm doing everything on my own. It takes a lot of courage and determination. I answer to the one above...

Describe your regular-out-of-competition training routine?
Usually when out of competition, I focus on my weak areas on a much stronger basis. For example, After my first show in 2007 I didn't compete for 8 months. During this entire timeframe, I'd lift probably 6 times a week and focus primarily on bringing out my back.

How does this change during competition training, including week of and night before the show?
Usually when in competition training I have begun to lift primarily high reps, mi… Continue

Nameless?! Nah! Andre's BLOG!

After checking my messages and whatnot all over the internet with emails, myspace, facebook, and the millions of networking site I began to realize that I really have not been as active on bodyproud as I used to be. In fact, I've lost a passion I used to have for why I ever had the desire to work out in the first place.

As I begin to rethink things, put stuff into focus, and pray for the best God has for me, I plan to make more of an effort to at least encourage others online and communicate mo… Continue

Talk about Overtraining? This article caught my interest a bit

3 Ways to Avoid Overtraining

By: Marc David

Imagine coming home after a long gym workout and actually feeling worse then you started! Everybody knows after working out you are normally tired but it feels good but what happens when you start to feel sick and it's too much?

Maybe you find yourself in this situation:

"The other day when I got home, I got really sick and threw up. Now my body feels very worn out!

Am I overtraining?

I want to take 2 days off from the gym to rest my bod… Continue

Competition!

Well I am now less than a week out from my very first FAME show! It's going to be a great birthday gift for myself! I'm excited :)

Although I'm going alone, I guess I can still manage to have fun and meet some new people! I do feel that I have definitely improved since the National Shows last November. Although there is no bodybuilding category at this Northeastern Show, at least I know I'll come in looking my best without having to do any intense dieting for the show! I hope to have fun and ho… Continue

Motivation

Let's talk about motivation. What motivates athletes these days?! Is it the burning desire to win?! Is it because people never believed they would succeed?! Maybe for some, motivation comes through growth, encouragement, or maybe even that small reward that person may recieve after reaching their goals. I know Jesus has been a motivation for me! Where would I be without God?! I would be on this Earth that's for one thing. Maybe it's knowing that no matter what happens God will always be around m… Continue
