Hi I really want to build muscle and tone my body.  I go to gym, but cannot afford a personal trainer so through guidance from friends via email and excercises printed from the www I put together my schedule for the week.

Do you have any other guidelines how I can seriously get my routine together or just get started?

I have never been a gym fanatic so really need to know the basics etc.

I am a small frame so only need to build muscle and tone as said.

I hope someone has some ideas.

Hi Can this product be bought in South Africa?
Lisa C has a good point - it is important to eat the right stuff in order to maximise and optimise your muscle growth without hurting yourself.

When doing the exercises, the most important thing is to get the form right, in other words your technique.
Then, start small and challenge yourself progressively, and be patient
You do not really need a personal trainer. Get together with a buddy that is motivated and dedicated in the gym.
Start with a good eating plan, and training program and supplement your diet with good quality whey protein.
