Btw, after each show FAME will be donating to this as well - to help give even more people the opportunity to showcase their "Body Proud" selves to a receptive audience!

After a long bout of illness and suffering a brutal attack (while incapacitated) I have succeded in putting my life back together health and fitness has always played a vital role in my recovery. Not only did I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lost all of my hair and body weight my body was canabalizing my muscles to survive. I lost my hair my life and all of my worldly possesions know one thought that I was going to make it and the odds were bleak. I also had an unexplained nerurological condition that made me shake uncontrollablly all the time which inhibited my sleep and my life in general. I went from being a healthy vibrant person who had been competing in the Martial Arts since the age of seven, and had achieved my Black Belt. To a sickly person in a short period of time with a grim prognosis. At 28 years old my life as I had known it was over! But, I managed to beat the odds and I am working on putting my life back together my first goal was to start training and then strive to compete as my chance to take back my life. I am excited about competing as I just did my first show at the Universe in June. I would love to continue to compete but, I am not sure how to obtain a solid sponsorship. I have lost everything and I am re-builidng my life living on social security disablity for the past 4 years and caring for two young children. I have gone back to school to become a Lic. Massage Therapist and bodyworker with less than 6 months left out of a 20 month program. My passion has become competing and networking with others who feel the way I do about health and wellness and staying fit. I hope to stand as an example to others that the odds can be in your favor regaurdless of what the medical profession may say. I am a product ot this hope. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to obtain a strong consistent sponsor to help with acheiving my goals. I have tried local bussinesses and a couple have helped with products and services but, I would like to obtain something more solid I appreciate any and all advice from veteran competitors. If I can stand as role model to others I would do it willingly, because I know what it is like and I have been in the trenches. The best thing that could have happened to me would have been someone that I could talk to and look to as a role model. Thank You--Pamela Lee Atwwod www.bodyproud.org/profilePamelaLeeAtwood
I have to agree with Pamela and it is nice to find someone in the same boat sort of speak as yourself. I have been diagnosed with Post Tramatic Stress Disorder as well but my situation is different, I was in a domestic violence relationship for 3 1/2 years. I was a National Level figure competitor and going strong. The more I succeeded the more the blows got worse. Some people do not understand how people get into this and allow it. You get lost. Your afraid for your life. You simply lose who you are. My jaw was broke for the last time a year ago on Christmas.
I then lost a true friend and my inspiration in this industry in June to Domestic Violence. We both thought the same thing, thinking by staying we could change them or you were the only person that they would listen too. When Amanda was murdered, then he turned the gun and killed himself. I don't think I have ever been so lost. The minute it hit the News. I had phone calls and numerous emails begging me to please move and get out or this would be me. I did it by the grace of GOD!!! I was living in constant fear everyday, not to mention all the medical bills that were growing. I am a single mother of two daughters and they keep me going strong each and everyday. They are my world and my support. I sat both of my daughters down and I explained everything to them as I DO NOT want them to suffer what I went through. It took a long time for me to speak about it but now I look at it, if I could help one person to save their life, then proud I would be. I am blessed to be here today and to finally get back who Eydie Anderson was before all this happened. I took last year off asI had to heal myself physically and mentally. This site has done wonders for me and I am so greatful to have my BODYPROUD friends and I know 2009 will be a better year. So, I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for this is a wonderful gesture. I live each day with the words, "Live Life Full Thottle, with no regrets, as we are never promised tomorrow" ~ Peace & Blessings ~Eydie~
