2009 FAME Atlantic City Championships

Thank you to James Jefferson for running a fantastic event and inviting FAME and Body Proud into the lineup for ESPN's 8th Annual South Jersey FItness Expo. Thank you also to the AMAZING individuals who wowed the audience, inspired body proud and reached their goals of getting up on stage to compete.

Now on to the good stuff... the results.

please note: As a corporate policy the only results posted are those of the 1st - 3rd finishers. Beyond that all athletes rank as 'runners up' and are able to contact any of the judges for feedback and suggestions

Lamar Corbitt is the champion of the Pro Bodybuilding contest. With 24 years weight training experience behind him, Lamar still loves the challenge of bodybuilding to see just how far he can take his physique. In fact, he credits this sport for teaching him all about nutrition, biology and body mechanics. An electrical engineer, personal trainer, powerlifter, past wrestler and all around good guy, Lamar set out to impress and impress he did. His advice to others "Set realistic goals and never quit!" Well said!

Tamekia White - Tamekia took first place in the female Bodybuilding Pro category. With a fantastic physique from top to bottom and side to side, Tamekia proved how her "extremely hard work, discipline and unwavering faith works!" She believes health and fitness to be her ministry and with that her goal is to honor God in her body, her temple and in all areas of her life while being an example and light to the world! Thanks Tamekia for inspiring body proud!

Maria Spano - Maria earned the first place spot in both Masters and Open Bodybuilding. Who would have ever suspected that she once weighed 200lbs?!?! Whaatt?! Maria's success continues... After changing her lifestyle and becoming more fit, Maria actually inspired body proud to her daughter Alexandra Fiorenza who also competed in this show and came 1st in the Swimsuit Model Search. Alexandra actually always watched her diet but was never really eating for health. So mom's influence really helped - and now Alexandra herself is inspiring youth to learn better eating habits. What a family!! Congratulations!

Don Denton - A civil engineer, Don Deonton won the Fitness Model Search and impressed the judges with his martial arts theme. In a post show interview, Don let us know that he wouldn't have been there had it not been for Annette Bouldon a dietitian and FAME competitor who taught him healthier ways to eat. When he experienced a substantial physique transformation, he was hooked... and that paved his way to the FAME Stage - and a new profession, that of a personal trainer. Like, Don, Annette impressed the judges with her amazing form and stage presence. She was one of the few athletes who can fully maintain her composure at all times. For Annette, who we last saw on stage at the FAME Northeast Championships, competing has also already opened up doors of opportunity - watch for her on the cover of 3 romance novels!

Sarah Beth Boylan won the Fitness Model Search after impressing the judges with her presentation, stance, smile and physique. This trainer also inspires body proud to her grade 1 students who believes we are created to be intertwined physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When one is strong, the others follow suit". Well said!

Chris MacKenzie came to the FAME Stage showing amazing conditioning and good energy. Knowing he could have fun with routine, he did - and ran out into the audience in the midst of it all to kiss his 3 small children who seemed to be enthralled with his performance. Congratulations Chris!

Frank Caine - at 55 years old, Frank Caine is an amazing role model for other adults to start training at any age. He only began lifting weights three years back when he was 52. Since then he has competed in more than 12 bodybuilding shows and even attained his Pro Status. Now feeling great, Frank feels as though he may never feel old - and hopes to inspire others to follow his lead. His advice "don't get taken in by phony fast fix claims. Eat healthy". Thanks Frank and congratulations on your 1st runner up position!

Kimberly Miller - Impressing the judges with her muscle tone, stage presence and smile, Kimberly, a mother of two, took the 1st place position in the Figure category. After discovering the benefits of "clean eating" and strength training, Kimberly overcame an eating disorder that she had been struggling with most of my life. Congratulations!! Her advice to you? "No matter what life throws at you.. all of your dreams are achievable!!"

Jordan Smith - At age 15, junior bodybuilder Jordan Smith wowed the judges with his perfectly symmetrical physique, fantastic conditioning, solid stage presence and the 'pop-into' poses. In fact, we were blown away to learn that this was his very first show. His secret? Learning direct from a Pro. This self proclaimed perfectionist states
"I figured if I'm going to learn, it may as well be from the best!"

Richard Opong - Competing in the masters bodybuilding category and coming in as 1st runner up, Richard showed great stage presentation and execution of the poses. As the owner of Wall Street Nutrition, Richard loves to inspire body proud... and getting up on the FAME Stage definitely inspired many people watching. Congratulations Richard!

Adam Bramski - Only deciding to jump into the competition in the last week, we're sure glad he did. Adam's energy and stage presentation was outstanding. He shocked the crowd and impressed the judges when he broke out in perfect skit to a Britney Spears song. We're very excited to see Adam back on stage soon - possibly as part of a Fit Duo team in Florida!

Laura Houseworth - Laura competed in two categories and did fantastic in both, placing as 1st runner up. A first time competitor, who lost a lot of weight (ie. 85lbs) to get to the stage, Laura is taught herself the walk and the stances to best impress the judges. Her love of hip hop also came in handy when she broke into dance during her themewear round which really caught the judges attention. About being body proud? "It has changed my whole life. I have incredible all day energy, a positive outlook on life and I'm setting a good example for my 2 children". Congratulations Laura!

Paul Zielkowski - Coming to the stage with fantastic musculature, a great overall package and fantastic posing allowed Paul to score well in two divisions - 2nd runner up in Open Men Bodybuilding and a very close 1st runner up in Junior bodybuilding.

Michelle Caso - Showcasing an overall good muscled package, fantastic smile, really good stage presence and a good routine, earned Michelle the first runner up position. Congratulations!

Elizabeth Neff - Elizabeth was a close 1st place runner up in the Swimsuit Model category showing great posture and stances. Plus, her beautiful smile lit up the stage and had all the judges captivated. "Living the fit lifestyle has helped me through the most challenging time in my life" so she advises all of you to "eat clean and get moving because you will feel better both mentally and physically". Good thing she is a group fitness instructor which allows her to inspire body proud to many! Congratulations!

Calvin Myers - At 66 years old, Calvin really impressed the judges and the crowd with his lean muscle tone and conditioning. His secret? "I didn't need to get in shape. I just always stayed in shape" Teenagers take note! A very inspiring and positive guy, Calvin also competed in powerlifting this weekend and was just a great bundle of energy on stage.

Lynn Cilio - Showcasing her body proud physique on the FAME Stage, 31 year old Lynn Cilio did fantastic in both the Fitness Model and Swimsuit Model categories earning herself the 2nd runner up positions. Doing this and being body proud has allowed her to feel physically, mentally and emotionally stronger (in fact she came out dressed as a fighter for her theme)- and even become more confident (and therefore successful) in her career. Great work!

James Hopkins - At age 19, James won himself an impressive 2nd runner up position. Competing in bodybuilding and being body proud has allowed James to inspire others that by growing their passion and knowledge they too can achieve their desired physique!

Anita Rodriguez 50 years young and winning the position as 2nd runner up in the Open Figure category is an incredible feat! Congratulations Anita! Her advice to others "believe in yourself. Anything is possible!".

In closing... We just wanted to mention again how impressed we were with ALL athletes. Thank you for competing and for inspiring Body Proud.

Thank you to judges: Barry Godin and Adam Silver, both from Silver Model Management who were scouting for new talent; Kraig Decker who has been with FAME since 2004 and will be hosting his own show in 2010; WNSO Pro Ralph Yates; and boxing champion and NGA chairman Paul Hendricks.

Thank you to staff: Anthony Boulware, Aruna Paramasivam, and especially Hesh who was on hand all weekend.

Congrats to all, looks like another great show. Sorry I missed it but I more than look forward to bringing my best to Florida in November.I will make it a point to be on stage next year in N.J. It's a must for me, I was born and raised in N.J.
With shows like this it's easy to see why the WNSO and the FAME World Tour is leading the way in Natural bodybuilding. It's easy to be Body Proud when your part of the FAME family. Keep the great shows and tremendous media exposure coming.Great work guys!!!!!!

FAME, James and Mindy, I am still learning my way around the body proud site, but I think this is a good place to say thanks for a fun event.

It seems to me that FAME is a good fit for James Jefferson's Expo. You brought some of the good guys in bodybuilding out to this event including Ralph Yates, Paul Hendricks and in the pros Lamar C. I know that FAME/Body Proud try to be very positive and this is a great group of guys.

First competition of yours I've seen. My friends and I found it by accident when we were in AC. Everyone looked great and the young boy in the juniors was totally into it. We loved the ladies - especially 74. You go girl!
